From your Altmuslimah piece on politician’s wives: “the image of the strong Callista Gingrich gazing reverently at her husband, Huma Abedin clinging adoringly to her husband in her embroidered wedding dress and Asmaa Al-Assad’s smartly-cropped honey-blonde hair and Chanel suits. The values embedded in these images make it all the more difficult to register the realities these women are meant to veil.”
So li’l Ms Gingrich is crusing for a similar bruising? Soon to be publicly, humilitatingly betrayed, or to face violent revolution? I don’t get it.

I was not suggesting that Ms Gingrich is facing a similar ordeal, but I did want to dwell on Maureen Dowd’s original point that her relationship with her husband came to be by means of an extramarital affair. As Dowd said, “born in sin and hypocrisy.”
